چکیده

Determining if two knots are not equivalent in an e cient manner is important in the study of knots. The arrow polynomial, which is calculated from a virtual knot diagram and is invariant under the Reidemeister moves, can be used to determine if two knots are not equivalent and determine a lower bound on the virtual crossing number. In this paper, we present the necessary data structures and algorithms to represent a link diagram on a computer and calculate the arrow polynomial.

An Improved Approximation Scheme for Computing Arrow-Debreu Prices for the Linear Case

Recently, Jain, Mahdian and Saberi [5] had given a FPTAS for the problem of computing a market equilibrium in the Arrow-Debreu setting, when the utilities are linear functions. Their running time depended on the size of the numbers representing the utilities and endowments of the buyers. In this paper, we give a strongly polynomial time approximation scheme for this problem. Our algorithm build...

Computing Vertex PI, Omega and Sadhana Polynomials of F12(2n+1) Fullerenes

The topological index of a graph G is a numeric quantity related to G which is invariant under automorphisms of G. The vertex PI polynomial is defined as PIv (G)  euv nu (e)  nv (e). Then Omega polynomial (G,x) for counting qoc strips in G is defined as (G,x) = cm(G,c)xc with m(G,c) being the number of strips of length c. In this paper, a new infinite class of fullerenes is constructed. ...

A Combinatorial Polynomial Algorithm for the Linear Arrow-Debreu Market

We present the first combinatorial polynomial time algorithm for computing the equilibrium of the Arrow-Debreu market model with linear utilities. Our algorithm views the allocation of money as flows and iteratively improves the balanced flow as in [Devanur et al. 2008] for Fisher’s model. We develop new methods to carefully deal with the flows and surpluses A preliminary version of this paper ...

Computing the First and Third Zagreb Polynomials of Cartesian Product of Graphs

Let G be a graph. The first Zagreb polynomial M1(G, x) and the third Zagreb polynomial M3(G, x) of the graph G are defined as:     ( ) ( , ) [ ] e uv E G G x x d(u) + d(v) M1 , ( , )  euvE(G) G x x|d(u) - d(v)| M3 . In this paper, we compute the first and third Zagreb polynomials of Cartesian product of two graphs and a type of dendrimers.

On the tutte polynomial of benzenoid chains

The Tutte polynomial of a graph G, T(G, x,y) is a polynomial in two variables defined for every undirected graph contains information about how the graph is connected. In this paper a simple formula for computing Tutte polynomial of a benzenoid chain is presented.
